MatWay (Matvey Slavin) is a German-Danish painter based in Copenhagen.

He develops Neograttage, an incision-based painting method in which the image emerges through irreversible intervention into wet acrylic. 

His works operate as tactile, layered structures af gesture and time.


Selected exhibitions include Kunsthal Aarhus, Kunsthal Vejle, JANUS - Vestjyllands Kunstmuseum, Gammelgaard, and Galerie Provence.
