MatWay is a Copenhagen-based artist working with painting as an irreversible act. Through Neograttage—incision into wet acrylic—the image emerges as a tactile surface shaped by decision, resistance, and time.
His work positions the artist as a problem-solver, where each gesture is both action and resolution within the constraints of the surface.
Operating between image and relief—precise at a distance, complex up close—the work holds the trace of irreversible actions and invites a form of perception that extends beyond the visual.
